I will initiate with some of my own thoughts, particularly regarding two recent conferences in Rome on livestock. Both looked at the role of livestock intermingled with issues of food, development, environment, regionality, management styles, and climate. I was able to make informal comments at one and was on the opening panel for the other.

For 2026, I am looking forward to activities related to the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP). I will say a few words about that.
I am setting this up as a webinar (as opposed to a meeting). If you know you'd like to speak, please just email me and I'll give you a panelist login. I can also just make you a panelist on the spot. I'll be streaming into the Soil4Climate Facebook group which now has over 35K members. I will also be helping to raise money for our efforts in East Africa.
