Dear Seth,
This man is smiling because he's supported to regenerate his land by people like you who care about regenerative agriculture and using animals to improve soil health.
He's a farmer in the Lilongwe region of Malawi in southeastern Africa where the majority of Malawians rely on small-scale, rain-fed agriculture, making them highly dependent on weather patterns. Climate change increasingly exacerbates droughts, flooding, and inconsistent rainfall—contributing to food insecurity.
This farmer and many others like him just received training in composting management to improve yields and reduce the need for expensive fertilizers. He also got a new watering can and seeds. The training stresses the importance of animals for soil health and demonstrates how to use dung with crops. Donations from Soil4Climate to Hope Ministries International-Malawi helped make it happen. Posts about this project are on social media here and here.
Please help us continue to support this and other exemplary programs for regenerative grazing and cropping in East Africa.
Even $25 makes a difference, but for $100 you'll get a free Soil4Climate hat (US residents only). Please write to me for champion program support.
With love for soil,
