Swami began his training in India, earning his medical degree from Sardar Patel Medical College, followed by a master's degree in general surgery from Sawai Man Singh Medical College and a master of surgery in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. He completed a residency in general surgery at Sawai Man Singh Medical College and a fellowship in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery at UCSF.
Dr. Narayanaswamy is a consultant surgeon in Department of Surgery since 1998, with experience of 23 years in premier tertiary centers (St. Johns Medical College and M S Ramaiah group of Hospitals) catering for challenging care in surgical field. He has obtained MBBS Degree from Ambedkar Medical College in 1993 and masters -M S General Surgery in Command Hospital Air force- Bangalore (AFMC). He is also a certified Laparoscopic Surgeon and member of IAGES since 2012. He has special interest in managing emergency surgical care and trauma surgery, in operation thyroid, ventral hernia and Laparoscopic surgery.
Michael Thambuswamy, M.D., is from the Tulsa area. He graduated, with honors, from Jenks High School. He was fellowship trained in neurosurgical oncology at the highly-acclaimed Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami, where he completed his neurosurgery training as Chief Resident.
Prior to attending the University of Miami, Dr. Thambuswamy completed his doctorate degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Beginning with his undergraduate education at Baylor University in 1997, Dr. Thambuswamy was a very active member of student life, holding elected positions in several student organizations and student government. He graduated with an MBA from Baylor University in 2002 with an emphasis in finance and accounting. He returned to medicine after receiving a performance award for his work with the Gatorade/Pepsi campaign during his time with a successful marketing firm in Dallas, Texas.
Throughout his medical career, he has been a devoted member of the community, providing continuity of health care to the underserved population of Tulsa at Bedlam Longitudinal Clinic, a student-run and student-directed free clinic for the uninsured and underserved. He volunteered his evenings there. He also volunteered at Oklahoma elementary schools to promote an interest in the sciences and teach about career opportunities in scientific fields.
Naveen Swami, MCh is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery. He received his MBBS from Sardar Patel Medical College in Bikaner, India, in 2000, and MS in General Surgery from Swai Man Singh Medical College in India in 2004. Dr. Swami then earned an MCh (Master of Surgery) in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India in 2008. Concurrent with his academic degrees, he completed internships and residencies in general, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery at teaching hospitals and medical colleges in Bikaner, Jaipur, New Delhi and Gurgaon, India.
In July 2008 Dr. Swami accepted a position as an associate consultant in cardiovascular surgery at the Artemis Health Institute in Gurgaon. He remained there until October 2009, when he accepted a position as a specialist in cardiothoracic surgery the Al-Ahli Hospital, a private cardiac center in Doha, Qatar. Dr. Swami worked at Al-Ahli Hospital through June 2013, when he returned to India and joined The Medicity in Gurgaon, the busiest cardiac center in north India. In October 2014, Dr. Swami joined UCSF as a fellow in Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery. He now joins the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Surgery.
Dr. Arun Swamy has completed his MBBS from the top Institute in Karnataka BMC & RI, Bangalore. He completed MS Orthopaedics from the premier institute AllMS, NewDelhi and was topper of the batch. He was a fellow in Joint replacement surgeries at AIIMS with special interest in Hip and Knee joints. He worked as an assistant professor at AIIMS NewDelhi.
Experienced in primary and revision Knee and Hip replacement surgeries, He also has special interest in Robotic joint replacement Surgeries. He has been trained in Total Hip replacement surgery by Direct Anterior Approach with hands on experience. He is a dynamic person in academics, research and patient care. He is also experienced in handling complex trauma of upper and the lower limbs, deformities of upper limb and lower limbs including Genu Valgum, Genu Varum, Cubitus varus/Valgus, coxa vara and paediatric orthopaedic conditions.
I am a consultant spinal surgeon at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Trust treating patients with all forms of spinal conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral spine. This includes degenerative spinal problems (disc protrusions, spinal stenosis), spinal fractures, spinal infections, secondary spinal tumours and spinal deformities [scoliosis and kyphosis] in both children and adults. I have a special interest in complex surgeries with a particular focus on revision (redo) spinal surgeries and deformities.
Following orthopaedic and spinal training at hospitals in Derby and Nottingham, I completed several fellowships in complex spinal surgery at Utrecht Medical Centre in Holland, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals, and travelling fellowships at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA and Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong.
I am actively involved in teaching and training orthopaedic and spinal registrars on the East Anglia orthopaedic rotation. I am a regular faculty member on several FRCS preparation courses and coordinate the Senior Norwich Spinal Fellowship, training senior spinal surgeons for future consultant positions. I am also regularly invited to be on the faculty of esteemed national and international spinal meetings, and teaching courses. I hold honorary academic positions in several overseas universities.
I have a keen interest in research and have published extensively, with over 30 peer reviewed publications and book chapters. I review articles for several orthopaedic and spinal journals, and am actively involved in high impact research studies both nationally and internationally.

Mr Gokul Vignesh Kanda Swamy completed his initial years of training in India, including a formal Urology training program and he worked there as a Junior Consultant before moving to the UK. Initially based in the West Midlands and then Leeds, he came to Wales in 2015 to take up an Oncology fellowship in Cardiff. Through all of these training roles, he was privileged to train under some of the best known and most respected Urologists both in India and the UK. In 2016, he was appointed by Swansea Bay University Health Board in Swansea as a Consultant Urological Surgeon, for providing Pelvic oncology services to both Swansea Bay University Health Board and Hywel Dda UHB patients. He specialises in prostate and bladder cancers and performs cystectomies and both open and Robotic Prostatectomies, for which he has an honorary consultant contract with Cardiff and Vale University HB.
Gokul is one of the new generation of surgeons who has gone through the formal fellowship and mentoring process. He works closely with other pelvic cancer specialist surgeons, such as colo-rectal and gynecologists for complex pelvic clearance surgeries for different cancers. He offers a good comprehensive core urology service, including surgeries for bladder outflow obstruction (prostate resection/bladder neck incision /urethrotomies), bladder tumour resection, stone surgeries including ureteroscopies and laser, diagnostic procedures including cystoscopy and prostate biopsy including cognitive/targeted fusion biopsy, penoscrotal surgeries like circumcision, hydrocele surgery, testicular implants, urinary tract infections etc.
He is very interested in research and in his first year has started working on national and international level projects. He works closely with different teams in Swansea University to set up new studies and has links with eminent and budding Urology researchers in the rest of the UK.
He has presented in international conferences and is published regularly in reputed medical journals. He is involved in setting up Robotic cystectomy services in Wales, which will be the first of its kind.
