Job Title : System Admin with Wintel Exp
Location : Montvale, NJ                                                    
Duration : 12-36 Months Contract                                

Description:
Ensure optimal level of customer support by providing 2nd and 3rd level support in coordination with the Support Center and extended and /or "on call" support coverage as needed during nonstandard business hours. Troubleshoot server-related hardware and software difficulties and malfunctions.
Build and maintain the company enterprise wide INTEL server infrastructure which entails the assembly and configuration of hardware and the deployment of Network Operating System consistent with the Company’s policy and procedures.
Included in the position is the maintenance and upkeep of Intel-based servers. Requires the ability to troubleshoot server hardware and software configurations in conjunction with our current network topology and configuration. Prior network administrative experience in both WAN and LAN architecture are preferred.
Optimize VMware resource performance by analyzing operating system; recommending improved methodologies.
Responsible for consultation on technical matters with Computer Operations, Network Services, Desktop Services, Systems Development, Enterprise Information Management and end-users. Resolve user problems involving any Open Systems server environment which require the expertise of the incumbent.

Knowledge and Skills:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Information Systems environment required.
Knowledge of Microsoft IIS and Microsoft SQL 2005 or 2008 Server is a plus.
Must have a technical knowledge of IBM and/or HP servers (including system unit architecture, add-on boards, micro-processor, bus architecture, display technology and peripherals). IBM BladeCenter experience and LAN network experience is a plus.
Solid working knowledge of Windows Server 2003 and 2008 Server operating system.
Experience working in a medium to large enterprise environment supporting end-users with files shares, queue based printing, Microsoft clustering technology, NTFS, and Active Directory.
Experience with ESXi 4.1 and VMware vCenter Server.
Experience working with and troubleshooting TCP/IP, FTP, DNS, and WINS issues.
Knowledge of SAN and iSCSI protocols and connectivity. Knowledge of CIFS, SMB, and NFS protocols is a plus.
Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.
Ability to learn, evaluate new product releases, considering enhancement to existing or integration into our environment.
Must have knowledge of end-user functions in order to recommend server solutions, as well as knowing the business at the departmental and corporate level.  Should be familiar with cost/benefit analysis and contract review and negotiation and licensing arrangements.
This position requires a working knowledge in Open Systems server technology and the aptitude to learn it. Excellent research, analytical, and troubleshooting skills are mandatory.
