I'm Number One!

I'm Number One1

unfortunately:

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

I'm too wasted to even think about fixing that, even though it's very
likely something really simple. I need to get some quality time in a
generally horizontal position first. That is, if you catch my drift.

It gets better: we're #1 at Yahoo for software problem:

http://search.yahoo.com/

We're not getting many actual referrals from search engines, but it is
still at a very early stage. Search engine referrals will come in
time.

Everyone at K5 says I'm crazy because of the way I ignore their
heartfelt advice as to how to design my websites.

My reply is that few at K5 know much about Search Engine Optimization.

Microsoft has indexed us, but we aren't ranking at all well yet. If
you try the search yourself, you'll probably have to search for the
site title in quotes:

http://www.bing.com/

Search for:

"solving the software problem"

A very rough estimate of the number of unique visitors can be obtained
by hits to the stylesheet:

Screen Stylesheet:

http://www.softwareproblem.org/good.css

Print Stylesheet:

http://www.softwareproblem.org/evil.css

Here is my command line:

# grep "GET /good.css" access_log* | wc
1757 28950 311391

What that means is that the screen stylesheet has been hit 1757. That
is an upper limit for the unique visitors, because of course some
visitors empty their browser caches then visit at a later date,
thereby loading the stylesheet a second time.

I'll set up proper log file analysis with Analog next week sometime:
