I liked the format of the show, but I have a few suggestions that I hope you will find constructive:
* Make sure your recording volume is set appropriately. The intro played nicely on my radio (via iPod FM adapter) but all of the speech was so quiet that I still had trouble hearing it with the volume maxed out. I resorted to listening on my headphones, and even then I had to turn the volume up to max.
* Support your voice. Speak from your stomach rather than from your chest. Otherwise, you sound quiet and tired.
* The ending was quite abrupt. Consider an ending sound clip stating that the podcast is over, and perhaps some more music.

I have to agree with Derek, except #2 as I have no clue how he was
able to decipher that :) looking forward to the next episode!

Thanks for the feedback. I got doug Bradbury(av expert) help for the
second recording. The volumes and production are much better. :)

I have some tips on how I produce the Elegant Code Cast and the Pluralcast here:

These posts are somewhat dated.

Here are some other tips:
  1. There is no substitute for a decent mic. I use a RodeCaster, which is expensive, but you can get a SnowFlake for about $100.
  2. Levelator is your friend.
    http://www.conversationsnetwork.org/levelator

It evens out volume levels very well.
I still use Audacity with no complaints.

Thanks for the feedback. I have solved a few of the volume/production issues (Luckily, 8th Light has an AV guru in residence in Doug Bradbury). The next one should be much better.
