Anyone work with physics software repos, or work with fluid dynamics researchers that might have a lead on this?

Dear colleagues,

I became interested in the history of "Computational Fluid Dynamics
(CFD) Software" last week, but could not find much historical source
material on this topic so far. May I ask for your advice and comments?

Best, Ulf

Source: My husband who does this for a living. Your researcher needs to find someone like Dr. James Baeder at the University of Maryland, College Park, who is a CFD professional and might be able to provide a history of the field.

There were a lot of 1-dimensional flow models and that has grown into 3-dimensional and other aspects for modeling. Current software is stuff like Ansys; SolidWorks has a CFD module.
