The Council of Prairie and Pacific University Libraries (COPPUL) joins the Digital Preservation Coalition

COPPUL, a Canadian consortium of university libraries across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, has joined the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) as an Associate Member.

Through its Digital Stewardship Network (CDSN), COPPUL demonstrates strong commitment to building digital preservation capacity across its member institutions. "Collaboration is a core value for COPPUL and an essential part of our strategic framework, and we are very pleased to be joining the DPC,” says Y.G. Rancourt, COPPUL Digital Stewardship Network Coordinator.

They continue: “We look forward to opportunities to contribute our shared values of service, accountability, and innovation within the DPC and the broader preservation community as we strive to support our members’ digital stewardship needs now and into the future.”

Anna Perricci, Head of DPC Americas, welcomed COPPUL to the DPC community: ““We're delighted that COPPUL has joined the Coalition. Their impressive 17-year track record in digital preservation and extensive work supporting member institutions demonstrates a collaborative approach that is essential in our field. Their membership strengthens the DPC’s growing presence in Canada and brings valuable expertise in collaborative digital preservation initiatives. We look forward to working together to address digital preservation challenges across the Americas and globally."

The DPC is an international charitable foundation which supports digital preservation, helping its members around the world to deliver resilient long-term access to digital content and services through community engagement, targeted advocacy work, training and workforce development, capacity building, good practice and standards, and through good management and governance. Its vision is a secure digital legacy.
