 Job Title: Performance Engineer

 

Qualifications

• Requires 4+ years experience developing and/or leading performance issues on projects, such as:

• System performance monitoring, tuning and reporting
• Software tool performance monitoring, tuning and reporting
• Preparation of software tuning recommendations

• Two or more of the following technical skills 

• Performance Center Load Runner 9 – Vugen, LR Analysis
• Shell, Perl scripting
• AIX 5.2 and above
• Solaris 10
• C/C++
• Java
• Websphere 6.1 (Application Server and Portal)
• SOA and web services on zLinux platform
• Oracle db performance analysis

• Proficient with Monitoring tools

• Vmstat, Netstat, Iostat, NMON, ESAR
• Sitescope
• Websphere - Tivoli ITCAM, Foglight  GC analysis tools

• Bachelor’s degree
• Personable and diplomatic team player, with the ability to work well in a team environment

• Experience in a technical role on at least 2 full lifecycle medium-sized projects lasting more than 6 months 
• Ability to define and distill detailed functional and non-functional technical requirements
• Detailed knowledge of prototyping, performance testing and benchmarking of third party product integration.

 

 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Supports performance goals for the project
• Responsible for the following on a project:

• Design, construction and execution of stubs, agents, scripts that simulate end-user behavior
• Design and development of instruments and monitors
• Technical risk assessment and resolution of performance issues. For example, preparing reports to end-users  and  business unit leaders on status, problems, issues and underlying performance problems and/or tuning recommendations
