Making Parallels in SPE to Security Engineering

I'm a long-time SPE (Software Performance Engineering) practitioner. Over the last 3 years I've ventured into the world of Security Engineering. I see an incredible number of parallels with Performance and Security. I'm curious if anyone else has made similar parallels. On that topic, I am wondering if anyone has created a modeling parallel for performance/scale to the security concept of an Attack Tree or an Attack Surface?

Not sure who else is in this group actively. I noticed a lot of postings for job positions, but hopefully some curious lurker of the forum can shed some thoughts...
