I haven't connected the dots until just now, but there a few (at least!) mangers at $JOB that are the manager equivalent of a tactical tornado. Boy there is a lot of movement and activity and that promotion is coming, but there is chaos in their wake, and real costs with re-aligning people to various projects, constant churn of priorities, and the loud sharing of half baked ideas with various amounts of buy-in across the org.
No solution to share here, sorry. I thought others might resonate with the parallel of managers getting the wrong abstractions (people/teams/projects) and the tactical vs. strategic distinction not only applicable for software engineers.
Curious to hear if this brings up any thoughts for you!
