Is anybody using the Thinknode M3 with Linar's SoftRF ("Pocket edition")?  I'm considering making my version of SoftRF support this device.  But first would like to know:

* Do you have to buy the Meshtastic version of the M3, or does the LoraWAN version work as well?

* If you connect it to a PC via USB, does it open as a "mass storage device"?  Here I do *not* mean the fake "mass storage device" to which you can drag a UF2 firmware file.  Rather, I mean an additional files area where you can, for example, write a small text file.  On the T-Echo, for example, this opens if you simply connect to a PC, without clicking the button to access the UF2 update mode.  I need this files area for storing the SoftRF settings.txt file.

Searching on the web, I cannot find any info on how much flash ROM space the M3 has.

Yes I know about the T1000E, which is a fairly similar device, which I hear does have a file storage area.  But setting up the T1000E for SoftRF is an involved process, which I could do, but many people would not like it.

I now have an experimental new version that runs OK on the Thinknode M3 (along with the T1000E and the T-Echo and T-Beam).  If anybody wants to test it, let me know.  To answer my question from last month, no, the M3 does not have external (SPI) flash, thus no file system, and therefore no ability to save flight logs.  I arranged to just save the settings in the small user-data ("EEPROM") area within the flash (1 MB total, including program and bootloader) that is built into the nRF52840 MCU.  The M1 and the T-Echo and the T1000-E all have SPI flash, so if you want to record flight logs, those are better choices.
