I was quite exited when I saw LilyGO T-Display P4 AMOLED
Seems like good all-in-one solution for SoftRF + SkyView and it has big AMOLED display and I am a fun of AMOLED displays in aviation. Then I read that it only supports  ESP-IDF framework and was a bit disappointed.
Turns out the  upstream SoftRF  version 1.8 supports T-Display P4 if I understood it correctly from the Commit messages (nothing on the website yet)

Unfortunately, those devices re sold out till end of January, I would be interested to get one and try.
Understandably, it will need work done to port SkyView features across, but that should be nice project.

No mention of GPS as part of that T-Display P4?

In my view outside in the sunlight e-ink is far better than any display that makes its own light.  For that reason I would love to see SoftRF+SkyView implemented on this device:
Including the optional GPS it has (almost) all the needed components (alas no audio?), in a smaller smartphone-like form factor.

Then again, for me it would be more attractive to integrate SoftRF with XCsoar than with SkyView.

It looks like the P4 has a built in GPS and audio chip.
Can beat e_ink in sunlight , but AMOLED also better than LCD in the way that the reflect the light and not fully rely on backlight.
Setting them to white background and black elements would be similar to e-Ink, but drain more power.
Anyway , will see when I get one.
