Ijust bought a series X and whenever it is on my entire house's devices slow to a crawl. I had a Xbox One X and did not have this issue. I have 1Gig internet, Orbi RBR850 and have the xbox wired in. It doesn't matter if I have it on wireless or not. This immediately started as soon as I added the series x to my network. Any suggestions would be helpful. I've tried restarting router, xbox, modem etc numerous times and nothing has helped. I haven't seen anyone else have this issue. Thanks in advance.

I've also experienced this.. not sure what xbox is doing but it also appears that it's saturating the network. Possible that its might be hitting a pps limit in router mode. I'm planning to get some pcaps and see wth is going on. Coincidentally, the satellite its connected to slows down to 20 to 30mbs after some time... it could be the xbox thats triggering it. Never had this many problems with a wifi system that costs 700.

I have the same issue. Signed up for 1Gb Fios (more than I needed) to get the Xbox, $200 Amazon gift card, and discount on my mobile and home plans. I cannot redeem any of it and have gotten tons of mixed messages from customer support. Last I heard was that it cannot be redeemed until two billing cycles have passed. I saved the screenshots and references from my last conversation, just in case this needs to make its way to the FCC consumer complaint mailbox. I have been a big fan of Verizon but this feels dishonest.

I still have not received help and I was promised that I would receive an email 1/10/2024 regarding the Xbox Series X and $200 Amazon gift card. I have still not received an email regarding the promised promotions I was suppose to receive for signing up to Verizon home internet. Very disappointing and cannot say I am satisfied with the service

I also signed up for 5G home internet expecting the xbox and amazon gift card. Internet was activated 12/28/2023 and I still have yet found a way to redeem the xbox and amazon gift card. Can somebody please reach out to me too?

Yes I start in 2009 having strong headache with my first cordless phone (philips) at home e xbox one viewings film and playing with. Turning off both of them the headache went away, then I began to put the antenna away from my home I have all connection on cable now at job and at home so I do for my neighbours, but this happen to me and I don't know why it happen, I only know that I have pain when the wifi waves are starting to close to me, so it's better for me playing and using technology without wifi and bluetooth...

I fast see the video and I don't have this command in my xbox one S ... so I hope it will be on Xbox series X. I put out one antenna from xbox one s and it is working good the same by rj45. The antenna in front isn't possible to remove then I make a physical stop of it with a stone that absorbs waves and like this i can use my console at home, with the controller with cable usb (when you put the cable in the controller it stop the wifi signal). tsk g

Thank you for commenting on this! I have EHS and we bought our 13 year old son the Xbox series S for Christmas and set it up via ethernet thinking it would be fine. Boy was I wrong...my head felt like it was going to pop from the pressure from the RF output. I have a meter and tested it on even a different floor - my son had it hooked up in the basement family room and tested in the kitchen and the levls were through the roof! Might you or anyone have suggestions on how to disable the RF on the Xbox series? I feel bad and really want our son to be able to use it but can't handle the pain it's causing. It's currently at his grammy's down the road so he goes there to play BUT I also don't want him to be exposed either as this effects everyone. We are completely wired at home. Thanks!

My husband and I purchased an Xbox Series X. Unfortunately whilst it's connected to our local network, either Wi-Fi or Ethernet (working CAT 6 cable) to our Home Hub 3000, all other devices connected to our local network begin to severely throttle. What is worse, and it's repeatable, whenever the Xbox is downloading a game, network speeds will drop from 1Gbps to approx. 20 - 30 Mbps. Further, the Home Hub will become unstable, will crash, and all devices will disconnect. A speed test during a download from the Xbox will result in time out.

The moment we pause the download or cancel it, network returns to normal and we can, repeatedly, run another speed test and we're back at or close to advertised speeds (1Gbps down). We've tried opening up all ports via the modem GUI per Microsoft recommendations but that does not solve the issue. -CA/help/hardware-network/connect-network/network-ports-used-xbox-live

To clarify, we're not talking about download hitting advertised rates. We're identifying and demonstrating there is full modem instability which prevents the simple act of downloading a game onto the console.

We suspect something on the Bell infra / backend is flagging or generating a conflict with the device. As after a recent modem reset, we can for a moment (5 to 10 seconds) obtain 150 mbps download over wifi or 500-700 mbps on ethernet, but after those 5 to 10 seconds, the speeds just crank down back to 20 to 30mbps and the hub crashes.

I've contacted support this morning and whilst they will ship (after trying to convince me to upgrade my service) a replacement Home Hub 3000, and insisted we're not eligible for a Giga Hub, I don't believe it will be resolved given that a quick google search highlights this is a common issue.

We are using an Xbox One S and similar issues, the Xbox series S seems to be better on the network as long as there is no need for large update downloads, that's when we use the neighbors competitor's provider (COGECO) my sons xBox has not been able to connect properly on any Bell service type for a year and a half. For the fun of it tonight I tried to go onto our Bell provider we pay for, same with previously in the city on the highest speed FIBE package unlimited downloads but it just was worse, I was hitting 1000 ping at some points. Very frustrating and more frustrating when my son was angry he couldn't play online with friends, especially during the lockdowns... Its definately not an Xbox issue, take your console to a friend/family who uses another provider..... The difference will show itself unfortunately

Hi all

Just wanted to check if there is any updates regarding this issue, mon son's xbox update connected on the wifi is crashing the Hub 3000, which reboots over and over. So far, technical support haven't given any real answers nor found the problem. I am in the exact same situation as mentionned in the Reddit link.

Hi there @JeffTaillon,

Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the Bell Community.

Are you using any third party equipment (such as a router)?

We recommend that you try connecting an Ethernet cable directly from the Xbox to your modem, and then test to see how everything works when you download the update on your son's Xbox.

We hope to hear from you,

- Patricia

What happened: we went on holiday for a week, leaving all gadgets at home unplugged from the mains electricity. When we got back, the Xbox 360 could no longer log on to Xbox Live. All our other gadgets can connect to the internet as normal using a mix of Ethernet and wireless connections.

I tried both suggestions. www.xbox.com/mtu-help doesn't exist any more. I found several recommendations on-line that say Xbox Live requires an MTU set between 1364 minimum and 1492 maximum. I checked my router: it had MTU set to 1458.

I tried all the above suggestions, and after making the last changes powered off the router/modem and Xbox 360 both. I left the router/modem for the recommended five minutes, then plugged in and powered up the Xbox 360 again. The Xbox 360 still can't connect to the Internet.

Also consider the strain that downloading new games and files puts on your internet. If you want to download games on your Xbox Series X as quickly as possible, then faster internet really helps. Internet speed is impacted from a variety of factors, but it ultimately comes from your internet service provider (ISP).

Game creators try to keep file sizes as small as possible, and they do change slightly with every update. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, for example, is known for its larger file size of around 200 GB. Others, such as Cyberpunk 2077, has a file size around 70 GB.

When it comes down to it, Xbox Series X is more powerful, about four times faster, and includes a lot more storage. Both consoles support 4K games, although the Xbox Series X comes with an HDMI 2.1 (as opposed to HDMI 2.0).

Both Xbox series X and Xbox One include something called a fast resume feature: it allows you to switch quickly between different games. On Xbox Series X, the feature is more advanced and supports switching between multiple games at one time. There are some major updates to Xbox Series X that make the change much easier than on Xbox One.
