Hi again,
Happy New Year! January's been mellow here, with very creepy unseasonable warmth.
So I realize that it's not been long since I last wrote, but wanted to
share a few interim bits of info before much time passes...
PUNY, the first new album from
Pumice in four years (!) will see release 6 March on CD, LP and CS, and we've whipped up a special treat for you Pumice maniacs...
Available first to mailing list folks, we're offering a special edition
LP version that will include PUNY on vinyl, an art print from the hands
& mind of Stefan Neville himself, and one more extra special thing
that I don't wanna mention (it will be excellent). The special edition
is a mere $5 more than the standard version (I'm forcing Stefan to take
$$ for his print!) and is limited to just 35. Act now, etc.
Links to pre-order either version (special / regular) are imminently
below. All will ship to arrive before the actual release date, all
prices are postage-paid & yes, the LP does include a gratis DL code
that will contain a few extra songs (outtakes) from the album.
Special Edition / Pre-Order
"Everything Pumice owns is broken. Virgin audience members at his shows
might think he is fucking up till half-way through when it becomes clear
they are witnessing a perfect solo ballet of mini-cassettes, modified
guitar, foot-pedal drum-kit & short-circuiting spring reverb croon.
Deep into a genius career, Pumice still surprises with his subtle
mastery of broke-down sounds, slowed-down Magic Band rhythms, crumbling
chord organ hymns & tragic ballads that reach deep into the very
soul of Flying Nun/Xpressway/Root Don Lonie For Cash anti-pop pop music.
PUNY is as difficult to fathom & as easy to love as all his best
work." - Glenn Donaldson
Released 6 March 2012
