Hello, August:

We've got a few new releases on the horizon & a few recents in the rearview, not to mention a release for the hear & now from the mighty Pumice. For the past few years, really since it's initial release in 2007, Pumice fans have asked for a vinyl version of Pebbles. Four years on & it's as brilliant a statement as ever, with heaps of Pumice now-classics and a fine remastering job by Patrick Klem. Released in an edition of 300 with retooled artwork & a bonus download. A lovely package. The Pebbles LP is officially out on August 30, but may now be had via our web site / shop...

Soon thereafter we'll be ready to unleash a big batch of tapes unto the world (all with free downloads), I.E. the long-awaited / delayed CS version of Horrid Red's Silent Party EP (expanded, ed. of 50), the killer debut full-length from Primitive Motion, By Arc or Chord (ed. Of 100), and the lost, final (?) album from the imitable Ulaan Khol, La Catacomb (ed. Of 150). These will arrive at the same time as the long-awaited Julian Lynch 7”; at the end of this month (proper release dates in Sept for each). We recommend pre-ordering the tapes, especially, since all are so limited...

Rounding out the year (at least) will be the stunning new Pigeons album, They Sweetheartstammers. This one was a year+ in the making, and touches on the sounds of Opal, Pink Floyd and Galaxie 500 (amongst others). It's as confounding as it is astounding, and there will be more info to share shortly.

Yours truly guest-hosted the Free Form Freekout podcast a week or so ago. Check out the full show, which includes some forthcoming / previewed Soft Abuse stuff, here.

Lastly, we're ironing-out details of the Soft Abuse / DeStijl get-together during this year's CMJ Festival in New York. More to come on that front, but in the meantime keep yr calendar clear on Oct 20.

Without further adieu -

"...sounds like our hero has eaten the bread of Gate & drank from the cup of Alastair Galbraith. Sometimes he even breaks out like he stole Bruce Russell's Fire Engines records! The new sheriff of Xpressway County don't shoot no blanks. Great stuff." - Siltblog

"When New Zealander Stefan Neville moans like Galbraith on 'Bold/Old', duets with himself in Tall Dwarfs fashion on 'Stopover', or rips out plodding Dead C. noise on 'Onion Union', it's enough to make you dig out an old Ajax mailorder catalog & fantasize about filling the gaps in your Xpressway collection." - Marc Masters, Pitchfork
