The "e" stands for "times ten to the power".
So, for example, 2.3e3 is 2.3 times ten to the third power, or 2300.

The first example, 4.330e-31 is very very small indeed (4.330 times
ten to the minus 31), which is *way* less than 0.005
If it was 4.330e-3 (I am not sure why there is a space between the 3
and 1), that is 4.330 times ten to the minus third, or 0.004330, which
is less than 0.005

The second example, 2.57e-3 is 2.57 times ten to the minus third
power, or 0.00257, which is also less than .005
