If you have SPSS, you can open the sav file within SPSS and then 'Save
As' csv. In SPSS 15 click on 'File' in the menu then 'Save As ...' and
then you give it a name and in 'Save as type:' select 'Comma delimited
(*.csv)'.
Some test data I exported came out looking like this (first few lines only):
> country,car,gender,age,agegroup,weight,weight2,browser,filter_$
> 2,6,2,38,3,54.4,53.9, Internet Explorer,0
> 1,14,2,89,5,74.4,78, Chrome,0
...
You can then import the csv file into SOFA Statistics. I have just
tried it with SPSS 15 and it worked fine. In the future I would like
the ability to import sav files directly but the code module I was
hoping to use for that didn't work properly so I have left it out for
the time being.
Please let me know how you get on. And thanks for raising this issue -
it may help other people in the user community.
There is a small poll running at http://www.sofastatistics.com/home.php
and I have added the option "Import from SPSS/SAS". You are welcome to
vote for it if you want.
Just out of interest, what country are you using SOFA Statistics in?
All the best, Grant
