Indonesia is a home
this is the statement that I value ever since this is created as a vision in the organization i’m taking in, named AIESEC in Indonesia.
The youth organization that help me to found who am I and my part in this world through its program also through its people that we met.
Indonesia is a home
This makes me confused and bring headache for the past 2 months to take real step where should I go after AIESEC life, either working abroad or working in here. Big conflict with my self, it kept fighting and burning me out. To see how Indonesia looks like in any year ahead it depends on its citizen.
….and I want to contribute in making Indonesia better.
But if i want to make indonesia better country as each of us dream,
I, you, we, should not go outside, because Indonesia need me, you, and us!
It need small contributions that matter.
I believe what I delivered though what I’m doing and what I’m passionate about can bring small impact that in the end it can BOOM out to be multiply and its affect. So do you!
People ask me, where I’ll be doing after this.
I choose to work first in a start up company that has the same value that I value.
…..and yesterday, Friday June 10, 2016 its the 8 working day outside AIESEC.
I’m currently still MCVP PR AIESEC Indonesia 1516 until 30 June and starting to do my work outside AIESEC in a start-up company name MEDIATRAC, a big data company. What I’m doing there, is the pretty the same like what I’m doing in AIESEC as MCVP but with higher target and tighter timeline. If you ask how’s working outside AIESEC, yeah it is more challenging because you start everything all over again and its good to learn new knowledge from different area. I’m a National VP but outside AIESEC I’m just a normal human being and nobody but Didi.
In my 4th day of working, which is last Monday, I realize something…
In AIESEC, you will be teach and experience with your own hand to taste the leadership and somehow AIESEC create you to be “born as a leader” since the first time you enter AIESEC until you are an alumni through its program both in local or national level. AIESEC give you a platform to explore who you really are and be a top leader that are relevant for the future.
But something that is missing is….
…...learn how to be a top follower.
I’m a part of the communication team, we had vision, and great team player. In AIESEC, I get used to give directions to the network and managing all the things, but in MEDIATRAC, as a part of the team who doesn’t have anyone under you, but you yourself, you need to completely understand how to be a great follower in order to achieve the vision under the directions of your leader.
Because to understand how to be a great follower I can say is not easy, it is not easy….I repeat.
You need to deal with your big ego to understand yourself.
Moreover….
as a AIESEC product, I need to see the exact different me as an AIESECer with a people who are not an AIESECer.
By what? By seeing how significant I am as a person who spent my time of 5 years in AIESEC and how does Leadership Development Model are truly become the DNA of us, and you cannot see it during your time in AIESEC but after AIESEC. Because in the end, I am the brand of AIESEC.
It is great to you you as future employer in any company in Indonesia but remember, our DNA (Leadership Development Model) that makes us different.
