3532 - 1/14/2012 23:14 Bruce Avison - 1/14/2012 22:10 Ackerman Farms - 1/14/2012 20:09 We have both a winpower and a winco. have had good luck with both. the winpower is a 15 kw that we run the hog barns with and the winco is a 50 kw that we run the dairy with if the power goes out. the winco is a lot newer. but they both work good. never had any problems. we did have to replace the brushes in the winpower once. i'd go with a winco they offer pto models ranging from 15 - 150 kw. winpower only offers one which is 30kw. i've never heard of a tractor overheating with a generator. sounds like they need a bigger tractor. It doesn't strictly overheat, it's either belt, waterpump or oil pump, natural wear and tear, except at 3am, there's nobody there to catch it - my friend was nearby and casually checked on it and saw that the belt snapped, so no waterpump action was overheating the engine. Some others aren't so lucky. Makes me wonder, why a $50,000 tractor (very often more) instead of a standalone engine? I know the tractor is on-hand, and for some people who infrequently use them it might be worth the risk, but for some others, it doesn't. Bruce 50,000 tractor but the engine doesn't cost any more to over haul than a throw away stand alone generator if something over heats......big difference. Plus you can probably easily get tractor parts. Have fun getting stand alone engine parts it will be more than a one stop shop for parts i bet. and the tractor is probably ran almost daily anyway, instead of wondering if the generator will start. I've heard the arguments about putting hours on a tractor too...isn't that why you bought it???
I have a DELL T430 server connected to 2 Eaton 9145 UPSes through the supplied USB cables for UPS monitoring. The UPS management software winpower detects only 1 of these UPS at a time. If I disconnect UPS2 then UPS1 is detected. If I disconnect UPS1 then UPS2 is detected. When both the UPS cables are connected only 1 UPS is detected.
