Hey SSC Nation!

It's an incredibly exciting time to be a part of the SSC and the youth climate movement. With critical national climate legislation on the table, a surging coal campaign, and campus and community organizers mobilizing youth all across the country, fall 2009 has kicked into full gear. I'm writing to invite you to seize yet another amazing opportunity to engage in climate issues this fall, as part of theSierra Student Coalition Delegation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Copenhagen, Denmark from December 5th-18th, 2009!

As an SSC delegate, you will have the opportunity to represent the SSC, the Sierra Club, and the youth climate movement at the most significant international negotiations on climate policy in world history. Along with your fellow delegates you will work to develop and implement a campaign aimed at building youth interest, engagement, and participation in what’s happening with our climate policy on a national and international level. You will gain experience developing invaluable organizing skills through engagement with the media, international political dynamics, and the broader world of NGO's. 

TO APPLY: 

1) Please download and thoroughly review the attached Youth Delegate Application Packet. In this document, you will find detailed information about the delegation, including expectations, roles, and responsibilities of potential delegates. It is recommended that applicants answer all of the questions first in the word doc before submitting the application through the online google form.

2) Fill out the online application here: SSC COP15 Youth Delegate Application

3) APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7TH AT 12:00PM EST.

4) You should expect to hear back from us regarding your application by no later than October 10th.
