Hey all - here's the one Community Coordinator
app I've gotten in so far (see message below) but I know that two more
are on their way. Also, I just posted the updated job description
and application on both the socsub google group and the main ConsCom group.
As for the call Sunday night - I think
it will be really important to set some overall goals and priorities for
SocSub and would like to spend time discussing that. I think the
conversations around SPROG outreach, comm. coord. outreach, and other stuff
will all fit into that.
Talk to you soon!
Eliza

Re: [EAC Comms Team] REQ: Three Opportunities
to Get Famous
Eliza,
I am interested in the community organizer position.
I feel like I am already growing into this role, as it is necessary
to bridge the gulf between the campus and the community here in Cullowhee
for us to win our campus victories and because I want to be actively involved
in crafting the vision that I have for NC and the South East.

sweet stuff.

[EAC Comms Team] REQ: Three Opportunities
to Get Famous
Hi Everyone! I just wanted to share three amazing opportunities to get
plugged into our rocking communications plan for the coming year...
Recruit/Recommend a Spokes Person and Help Develop Their Story
Do you work with an amazing leader with a powerful story? We are looking
for spokes people with powerful stories to pitch heavily to the national
media this fall. We need examples of the amazing people and stories that
together make this movement a movement. Spokes people should be ready and
willing (we can help train/prep them) to talk to print reporters and be
interviewed for radio and on TV. We will be pitching heavily to talk shows
and magazines and these are the people we who will be featured in much
of our national coverage this year. If you work with a leader like this
please work with them to get the below information to me ASAP at art...@energyaction.net
:
- Name
- Full Contact Info
- Biography
- Story of their work
- Photo
- Video of them talking about their work ( i can help make this happen)
Get a Free Video Camera from MTV!!!
MTV is giving out video cameras to 50 young people (ONE IN EVERY STATE)
to cover their local issues and work between now and the elections. MTV
has been a great ally to us and I will be pushing them hard to makes sure
a lot of climate and energy activists get this opportunity. But they cant
hook you up if you don't apply, so please get your best organizers to apply.
And apply yourself if you meet the opportunity. DEADLINE IS SEPT 21st http://www.mtv.com/thinkmtv/politics/election_08/index.jhtml#application
Get on the Comms Call Today at 1pm EST
The communications team is building steam and has big plans for the fall
semester. But we need help. Please, please, please get on the call and
help us roll out a kick ass communications and media strategy.
Power Shift Exit: What are we leaving people with?
Media: Next Steps, Press Release
Time Line/ Priorities
