First Phone Bank Info

Hey all!! Great call last night! I love hearing everyone, SOC is wonderful. I honestly think we work together better than any other committee.

I chatted with Tamara today and she advised us to focus the first phone bank solely on Power Vote and Green Jobs Day of Action. I know I'm really gun ho about the drilling issue and want to be involved in not having oil companies tear up our planet, but she said that the Sierra Club would be doing a plethora of actions around this and considering our capacity and various tax laws, it would be easier to do that. I'll send out specifics on what Sierra Club is going to be doing as soon as I get access for anyone who wants to be involved or use that as a jumping off point to see where SOC can fit in!

So First Phone bank:
1. Gather info for Big List (anything that's missing and will make the list updated)
2. Power Vote
3. Green Jobs Day of Action
anything else?

We'll need a working group to flesh out talking points, however since the SPROG working group is already creating Profile guidelines, this group would only have to work on Power Vote and Green Jobs. We can put this as an agenda point for our next call since we don't need to get this done until then. And hopefully some of the current SOC tasks will be done so people will not feel so overwhelmed. I don't want to lose anyone!!! :(

Also I was looking at the timeline and it makes sense to have the next phone bank be mid/end of October because of elections, etc. but I may be getting ahead of myself.

I really want to hear everyone's opinion on this!!!
