Hey SSC National Leaders!!
You're invited to join in on one of this semester's AO reading calls! As I'm sure you all remember, as part of the SSC's commitment to Anti-Oppression work, all national leaders are required to participate in semester readings and discussions. We hope that these conversations can both introduce new people to Anti-Oppression concepts, as well as deepen the knowledge and commitment of leaders who have previously participated. Calls are being scheduled within committees and subcommittees, so if you haven't already heard, you should be hearing from your committee chairs when your call will be! A member of AO Committee will be facilitating each call like usual.
This semester's reading will be on Gender, Race, and Environmentalism. We hope that the readings will help us explore how the work of Anti-Oppression relates to what we're doing personally, organizationally, and movement-wide. Please make time to read these two articles from On the Issues magazine. There are links throughout the article to more readings if you're interested in following those, but the articles themselves are both pretty short.

The ‘New’ Population Control Craze: Retro, Racist, Wrong Way to Go

Looking forward to great discussions!! If Committee Chairs need to schedule a call time or have any questions about process, please contact me or Erica Stout (ericastout [at] gmail.com).
Thanks,
Hannah Wade
