SO excited for SOC call tonight!!!!

P2P:
*p2p is releasing a  survey next week! on a future call, we could use soc's feedback to figure out how to take action based on the survey results 
*brainstorm check-in email themes, resources: ex valentine's day check in, include link to join climate network online 
*open up the invitation for SOC peeps to join pgm revamp summer team (which would make changes to program over summer "recess")
     -->this team would segway back into working group for fall. it would refresh leadership in the working group by giving chance for new people to come in and others to move on if they want.

-women's/men's collaborative (WoCo, MeCo)
the vision for this program would be an open and proactive group that joins regularly to discuss specific issues/themes relating to gender identity, gender relationships, and dismantling patriarchy. most likely this would entail:

AO and SOC committees would jointly facilitate this program, with a few members of each (plus some non-AO/SOC/SSC members) forming working groups. These working groups (2) would report back to and consult both AO and SOC committees. 

*these working groups would outreach about the programs, assemble and facilitate first calls, and then encourage participants to submit their ideas, suggested readings, google presentations, etc. and work with them to shape future calls.

-sprog follow up

• last year soc facilitated a kick-a$$ sprog follow-up: 

how did we do it? ID'd liaisons for each sprog who were in charge of making sure trainers followed up with sproggers after sprog. ALSO included exit surveys for sproggers to complete.  

why it's important? bring sproggers to shindig, help sproggers make their own goals and action plans, help us do better sprogs/be better organizers... 

• current state of sprogs: 5 confirmed- VA, TX, GA/LA, WA, PR, 3 more potentially running- NH, PA, mid-west? unclear if follow-up needed for "potential sprogs"
• we'll revisit this conversation once more is known about sprogs- prob mid-March
• for now, this would involve view/revise the sprog follow-up guide from last year, being or IDing sprog liaisons... coordinating with jon/trainings comm

INtro question: What would your hair be called if it had a name?

ROOM THERMOMETER!!

what are you goals for SOC this semester?

Anastasia: to communicate better with everyone, to make everyone feel more comfortable taking on different roles, connect p2p to SOC even more

Sandy: keep up to date with everyone, what people are working on, what's going on with the SSC

Caroline: leadership development, women's collaborative and the role that SOC can play

Erika: keeping up with what everyone is doing, being in contact with the rest of the SSC and other committees

Tippy: branching out, getting more SOC members, intrigued by women's collaborative

Angela: have all folks be able to work on SOC projects, awesome calls, support each other, work hard play hard, save the world

last year SOC helped draft the exit survey for sprog, intended to help keep sproggers involved, also to assist trainers in sprog follow-up

Tippy: 5, really into it, feel the enthusiasm

Erika: 5, really like the new ideas, women's collaborative, excited to continue with p2p

Caroline: 4, excited to see these ideas personalized in the future

Angela: 4.7, good bunch of projects, things we've done before as well as new ideas (womens collaborative) and projects to develop (p2p), excited for a dynamic semester

Anastasia: 4.5, great ideas, but want to see them followed through

Sandy: 4.5, really excited to see how these projects will develop

Final Go Arounds

Tippy: excited about ... everything! would like to figure out how to connect sproggers to peer2peer better in the future, most interested in getting involved in women's collaborative and would like to do outreach or organizing for it

Erika: still psyched for peer2peer and getting survey results, figuring out how to improve it for next year!

Caroline: most excited about women's collaborative, embodies a lot of goals that didn't know could be a part of the SSC, looking forward to finding male facilitators for collaborative, ready to get ideas going!, make sure to leave space for new ideas for the semester

Angela: feeling sparkly about women's collaborative, but also about sprog follow-up, excited to work with jenny on that, maybe take on a bottom-liner position for sprog follow-up while still involved in women's collaborative, sparkle caroline's comment on leaving room for new ideas

Anastasia: already excited for peer2peer and sprog follow-up and womens collaborative!! yeah! need to see how the semester goes, but would love to work on all of them

Sandy: ready for sprog follow-up, excited to help keep people engaged in the SSC and national movement

Check Ins!!! How is everyone?

Caroline: feeling the negative effects of coffee? uh oh. but got to relax today, which was nice. needs to practice relaxation perhaps

Sandy: making small personal goal like knot tying. excited about cool state network stuff

Angela: warm fuzzy talk with caroline, super amazing lunch with super amazing women

Tippy: missed you so sorry =(

Erika: internship fun, gave an awesome presentation about energy

Anastasia: the weather was hilarious, from happy sunny to dark and snowy whaaa????, spent some time with the elements, not super psyched about all this reading, wants to get back to ART
