quick update from cupids

Hey P2P peeps,

Just wanted to let y'all know Erika and I chatted this evening and will rehash the convo briefly on our call this sunday. In the meantime, what we decided regarding buddy match-ups:

Starting friday 18th (since we have a few survey stragglers) we'll look independently at the list and start brainstorming good matches

The following friday 25th, we're sitting down to match-make

the monday after that 28th, we'll tie up any loose ends, make p2p buddy lists, make sure a welcome email is drafted and anything else...

then oct 1 announcement goes out!!

some questions for the group:

-would we want to do a conference call with google presentation (like an online power point) to introduce the program to participants- giving participants several possible timeslots to be on a call??? this way, we can answer FAQS like what's our role, how to start the convo, etc. and give buddies a time to hear one another's voices and get excited.

-if so, we'd need to prep a presentation... anyone interested?

-anyone good with graphics who'd want to make a flashy looking email announcement? using a template letterhead or something? (maybe work with kristin to use newsletter format?)

-do we have interest/capacity to compile helpful materials for buddies? this might be a longer term thing, but to help inspire peers and give them resources, tips, things to talk about...

P.S. Anastasia = in 2 weeks we definitely need 'cupids' chosen, so they can start matching when registration closes on September 14. I think the deadlines we discussed were like..2 weeks to get feedback/fill some roles [LIKE FACILITATOR FOR NEXT CALL! we forgot to do that..], and then all of us can confirm it on the call on the 20th.

• Idea from Shindig 08
• wanted to offer mentorship/connections between ssc-ers
• became mentorship program and was approved by excom
• re-formatted program to be less hierarchical/not dictate relationships
• used spring/summer to do small pilot program with 10-12 pairs
• relationship with kristin = form/info on ssc website
• sprog = good outreach

 
4. Review P2P Structure [this can be found in the monster doc and also in the separate doc]

 

• reviewed doc/timeline
• decision: all members of working group will have buddy lists

5. Do we need more tangible goals/a mission for this project? If yes, set up a process.

• every member of working group has a role every month
•  time commitment goals: 6-7 hours per month per member; what is necessary
• how many pairs can we take on?

5. Discuss roles - should we share roles, rotate, etc?

• roles: facilitator, buddy list monitor, e-mail compiler ? [revisit], kristin point person, someone to conduct interviews/ID rockstar pairs for website, SOC liaison, cupid[s], timeline fascist

6. Do we need separate google infrastructure for P2P, or will we be working out of soc's monster dOC?

• we need our own
• anastasia will creat the monster!

7. Can we establish normal, monthly call times on this call? Or at least figure out a process/deadling for that
