WEIGH-IN: Phonebank to Boost Sprog Fundraising Efforts

Hey SOC,

 

Unfortunately this weigh-in needs to happen via e-mail; read through my proposal and reply with a yay or nay as soon as you can, please!

 

Trainings Logistics Committee is having trouble meeting crucial fundraising goals. If enough money isn't raised, there simply won't be Sprogs.

I feel like one barrier to effective fundraising is that most communicating for the initiative is happening via mass e-mail/tele-training. One on one calls with SSC leaders and POSSIBLY the most recent list of Sproggers could help motivate fundraising, which needs to be done by mid-November.

 

My goal/proposal is to phonebank National Leaders [50ish probably], and possibly tackle the list of recent sproggers, which is a couple hundred. If everyone feels comfortable throwing down, it won't be too much. And it's for SPROG!!! We will basically be asking everyone to contribute $3-5 to a Sprog, and to commit to finding another friend to do the same.

 

I will develop a script with all pertinent thingies [maybe with the help of a fellow SOC star, nudge, nudge] as soon as I feel support.

If you do NOT weigh-in, that's silly and not helpful. A simple yay or nay will do.

I think this is a slippery slope.  If we are being asked to phone-bank for Sprog, then all the other committees should be asked too.  I feel strongly that we are no ones phone-bank team.  Sprog is important to SOCs mission, but it's also important to all the other committees as well.  I do agree though that it's really important that we get out the word for Sprog fundraising.  There's so much going on right now that getting a personal call would probably help alot to raise these funds.

My vote: AYE, with the stipulation that other committees are helping out and making calls too.

I agree with Jenny.. and although I don't really have the personal capacity to make calls, I do think its important that the word gets out about SPROG fundraising, but it shouldn't be a SOC-specific thing. Maybe there could be a 'SPROG Fundraising Team' comprised of members of SOC, trainings, and others who have a stake in SPROG fundraising??

So I vote yes, if its not a SOC-specific thing :)

Hey all,
I think this could be great!!!
I like the idea of a group of folks from different committees, especially if we can use this as a way to re-energize whats left of cons comm...apparently they are having some problems communicating and getting things running and while this might not necessarily be part of their mission- I think it could be a great way to help give them some motivation and something to work forward to: since we all love sprog so much!

I could help consult on the script thingy if you want Angela! It might be hard for me to get on a call, but I can definitely give feedback/talk with you about it via email? Although we really do need to catch up so maybe we could set up a time to skype and work it out?

I'll try and work on the script/figuring stuff out over the weekend somehow; see where I can reach out to other committees/the rest of cons com.

 

hopefully that is a good balance.
