SSC Mentorship Program Form

In an effort to enhance peer-to-peer support, share resources, skills, and wisdom, and combine campaign building with community building, the SSC's Support Outreach and Community Sub-Committee (or SOC SUB) is orchestrating an SSC Mentorship Program.

This program compliments the Staff Mentorship Program, working under the same goals of providing personal organizing and campaign support, while reaching a wider audience and connecting groups that might otherwise not be included, such as alums, SPROG trainers, and SSC committee members.

SOC MISSION: The Support, Outreach, and Community Sub-Committee provides accessible outlets and support for grassroots involvement in campaigns and meaningful ways for fostering a sense of community in the SSC.

I wish in the city of your heart
you would let me be the street
where you walk when you are most
yourself.  I imagine the houses:
It has been raining, but the rain
is done and the children kept home
have begun opening their doors.

girl go back to ghana!!!

the retreat was great, i was just about to send out a call invite to discuss.
highlights:
1) we presented the mentorship proposal, caroline will update us on the next call, but were moving on it.. we're will be presenting the proposal on the next conscom call where they will be voting to approve it, and then welll be going to excom with it by early feb.
2) we recruited a bad ass new member named christina ffrom georgia who will be working with us on incorporating the campaign and goals timelines that conscom as a whole came up with this weekend ( she'll send out the acutaly timeline as soon as we get a copy!)
3) campaign and goals timelines!!!! (number 2 was about christina, this one is about campaign timeline, that maps out general conscom fixed dates and some ambitious goals for each month of the upcoming year as well as some long term goals for the next few years
4) we discussed internal communication (shocker i know) for conscom, and theres a group of people working on creating a sort of hub of conscom/subcoms activity on some google resource, well pass on the notes on that as soon as we get them!
5) we went out to bens chilli bowl the same day (not the same time) that OBAMA went OH SHIT i touched the table where he ate and the chair he sat lol
