Hey Bubbas,

Here is a reminder to sign up for the August 24th San Juan to San Diego ride.

We have about 10 riders so far and it is going to be a blast.

In order to reserve the proper size truck, we need to know how many are going.

So, don't delay and let Doc or me know right away if you are in!

 

Regarding the cost of the truck rental, it will be split equally amongst the riders. In past years it was $15 per person.

Subject: San Diego ride - August 24th

Hey Bubbas,

It is time for our yearly San Juan to San Diego ride.

This year it is going to take place on Saturday, August 24th and it will be organized by yours truly and Doc (Tom is not able to do it this year although I am still hoping that he will join in for the ride anyway).

The format is the same as previous years.  Basically, we start from San Juan train station at 6:45 (meet at 6:30), ride down to the train station in San Diego. Once there, Doc and I will rent a U-Haul and load up the bikes so that we can drive them back to San Juan. Train times are at 12, 1:40, 3 and 4 so we will organize to have lunch all together at the Karl Strauss brewery before heading back north.  

There will be three regrouping stops along the way, at Las Pulgas, at Buccaneer park and at the top of Torrey Pines. Last year we also stopped at my house in Carlsbad but, as Doc pointed out, it really takes too long to do that so we will skip it this year.

So, please set that day aside for this fun group activity and let Doc or I know as soon as possible if you going so that we can start keeping a head count.
