Subject: Poison Hemlock

Hey Gardeners
Just letting you know that it has come to my attention that one plot may have this plant growing.

To the untrained eye poison hemlock can sometimes be confused for some popular foraging plants such as Queen Anne’s laceyarrowwild fennel, and elderflower.

Please know that every part of this plant is poisonous and that you can recognize it by the lazy flowers and purple, red blotches on the stem. It is pretty and bees do visit it.

It’s spread by birds and pretty prolific now throughout the US. If you have trouble identifying it in your plot please let me know but I will be removing it tomorrow.

Thanks for your attention to this matter! Oimage0.jpeg
