Community Garden registration is open!

Register for your spot in the South Orange Community Garden for the 2015 season now. The Baird Center is taking registrations, and as you know space is limited. We have 48 raised-bed plots, and once they are gone ... they're gone.

The fee is $70. Bring proof of South Orange residency to The Baird along with your payment. Once you have registered, we'll contact you via email with more garden info.

Remember that you must pitch in on the upkeep of the common areas of the garden as well as your own plot. New this year, you must donate at least 10 percent of your harvest to local food banks. When you sign up, please volunteer for a garden committee: The leadership, fixit, food bank and social committees really need your help. Pick at least one and plan to participate this season.

We expect to begin work in the garden in mid-March. Plots will be assigned after that so that we can begin planting in late March.
