Hello everyone,

Just wanted to keep everyone in the loop about how announcing the
Grand Prize Winners will work. On Monday, 11 February, we will post
the list of Grand Prize Winners on http://code.google.com/opensource/ghop/

We will include the blurb you sent about why a particular contestant
was selected, along with the logo of your project. Please send me web
resolution artwork, either as an attachment or a link to the logo you
would like used.

We'll also make the winners' name a link to her blog should we get
permission from the contestant and his parent/guardian. I will also
be contacting any nominated Grand Prize Winners to make sure we have
their parental consent form, if applicable, on file prior to the
announcement. While I'm at it, I'll ask if they want to be
interviewed by the press, too.

<irritating corporate mode>

I'll also be letting the students know that if they publicly disclose
their Grand Prize Winner status before the results are posted at
http://code.google.com/opensource/ghop/ that they will be
disqualified.

Anything you can do to help enforce the point that silence is golden
here is much appreciated. Yes, I know, it's open source.

</irritating corporate mode>

Thus far I have Grand Prize Winner submissions from:

Drupal
GNOME - need your OK on small text change to blurb
Moodle
Plone

I've seen deliberations go by for both the ASF and the PSF, but no
final word yet.

Folks, please get me this information ASAP so I can start making
arrangements with the winners and get the required information to
engineering for the site update.

And, finally:

Thank you all for making GHOP such a tremendous success. You rock!!

Cheers,
LH

http://plone.org/about/logo/ is the page with all the logo info (we've
got a brand new one, was previewed at our last conference but only
just got finalised in the last few days). There's a zip file with as
many formats as you can shake a stick at on that page.

I sincerely hope they have patience ;)

No Leslie, thank you for organising this! This really is an amazing
idea and I hope you run it again next year. I've found out recently
that somebody I work with has mentored a couple of tasks for PSF, it's
amazing how much participation this has brought in. We've seen some
stellar work from our participants and I think that if this happens
again next year we can all learn from the other projects and get
something even better.

Hope the googleplex isn't too full of my comrades on their planning
summit,

Matt

Meh, me too.  I doubt anyone would spill it if we asked them to keep it quiet nicely, which is what I plan to do.  But need to lay ground rules as well.

You're welcome.  I'm very happy that we could help all of you make this happen.

Hope the googleplex isn't too full of my comrades on their planning
summit,

I'll find out tomorrow morning.  :)
