Subject: Possible interview opportunity on recession and its impact on affluent groups
Dear Race, Gender, and Class Section Members:
I am looking to connect a New York Times reporter with a sociologist for a story he is writing related to the recession. More specifically, the reporter is looking to speak with a sociologist who has been tracking a particular affluent community of professionals (e.g., bankers in New York, lawyers in Washington, or computer programmers in California) or people from an affluent neighborhood through the recession. It would be even better if the sociologist was studying the group before the recession and continued to study the group through the recession. The reporter said the idea is to show how people have adjusted to the downturn.
If you are doing this type of research and are interested in possibly being interviewed, please send me your best contact information (email and phone) as soon as possible. It would also be helpful if you could provide me with some information about your research.
Thank you very much.
Dan
