Call for Abstracts

Social Movements and Popular Protest Working Group

The 2026 SASA Annual Conference theme is Solidarity: Possibilities and Pitfalls. The Social Movements and Popular Protest (SMPP) Working Group invites abstracts for papers to be presented at the 31st Annual Conference of the South African Sociological Association at the University of the Witwatersrand. 

 

We invite abstracts that speak to the thematic focus of the annual conference and those that address the issues broadly related to protest, "activism," and popular resistance.

The deadline for receiving abstracts is Sunday, 15 March 2026.
