SASA Congress 2025: Accomodation & Transport queries

Greetings colleagues,

I hope this email finds you well and in good health. This is a brief email in response to some queries received thus far for clarity. Please contact the LOC directly via sasa2025c...@ump.ac.za for any Congress related queries

Invoices: 

In order for the LOC to provide you with an invoice, you must firstly register to attend the congress. Once you have done so, there might be some delays but the LOC is aware of this and working on circumventing it. Registration link:  https://forms.office.com/r/Zq0hpAziiv.

Accommodation: 

The conference will be primarily hosted at the Tfokomala Hotel and Conference Centre. Thus for anyone who is still seeking accomodation options this can be used as your 'daily central point'. As this is the UMP hotel, please directly contact the LOC for any information regarding a possible discount. 

Student Essay Competition Final Reminder:

We strongly and HIGHLY encourage all colleagues to encourage postgraduate students to submit their essays for the annual SASA essay competition which closes in two days. This is a great opportunity for development and exposure to academic publishing plus there are great prizes to be won too!

Shuttle: 

There are shuttles available from Johannesburg to Mpumalanga, for those who will by flying into OR Tambo or travelling from there. Possible options : Citybug Shuttles, Limetime Shuttles and others that can be accessed online. 

The congress programme will follow within the upcoming few weeks - We cannot wait to see you in the city of the rising sun!!

Please see attached an accommodation list shared by the UMP LOC for your reference: 

- Sun 1 is a budget-friendly choice for students, offering rooms at R766.59 each. Each room can accommodate up to three students.

- Alternatively, delegates may consider staying at the Tfokomala Hotel (https://tfokomala.co.za/), a 4-star hotel owned by UMP. It is also the venue where the conference will be held, offering added convenience.
