Meaning of Gauri Pati Shatanama Stotram:
Brihaspati said - Salutations to Rudra, Neel, Bheem and Paramatma. Salutations to the one who has matted hair, is the Lord of the Gods and is the form of the sky. ॥1॥
Who is called Vrishabhadhwaj because he wears the symbol of a bull in his flag, is called Som because he sits with Uma, is called Digambar because he wears all directions as his clothes, whose name is Bharg because he is the form of light, salutations to that Umakant. ॥2॥
Who is full of penance, auspicious, the best of Shiva, form of Vishnu, who loves snakes, is in the form of a snake and is the Lord of snakes, salutations to that God. ॥3॥Gauripati Shatnam Stotram
Salutations to Lord Shiva who holds the earth, is a tiger, protector of living beings, destroyer of Tripura, is in the form of a lion, is in the form of a shardula and is full of sacrifices. ॥ 4 ॥
Salutations to the one who is in the form of a fish, the lord of fishes, a siddha and the supreme lord, who has destroyed Kamadeva, who is the embodiment of knowledge and the lord of the intellect and tendencies. ॥ 5 ॥
Salutations to the one whose son is Brahma, the best, the virtuous man and the supreme soul. ॥ 6 ॥
Salutations to the one who is long, long in form, long in meaning and indestructible, in whom the entire universe exists, salutations to him who is the omnipresent sky. 7 ॥
Salutations to Lord Shiva who is the great death of Gajaasura, who has destroyed Andhakaasura, who is of the form of blue, red and white and who is especially loved by his associates named Chand-Mund. ॥ 8 ॥
