Nithyasree Mahadevan (born 25 August 1973) is an Indian Carnatic musician and playback singer. A prominent vocalist, she has performed at all major sabhas (music organizations) in India and has released over 500 albums. Mahadevan is also known for her work as a playback singer in Indian cinema, particularly for her debut song, "Kannodu Kanbathellam," composed by A. R. Rahman for the 1998 film Jeans.
