Dear Sri R V Rao,

Sorry to learn about your heart condition.  Take medicines regularly.

You are a well adjusted, pragmatic and popular person.
This helps in regaining normal health.

(3 of the 4 valves in my heart are malfunctioning.
I am taking 9 medicines)

All the Best,
Seshadri

My own thoughts based on my limited knowledge of medicine is that seniors, particularly super seniors, should keep surgery out of the door. Simply because the post-surgery healing processes slow down painfully or may not work at all in old age. I know WHY but thank me for not telling this here and taking a lot of space, foolishly!

My rule of thumb has been to “give medication, lifestyle changes, and home remedies including Ayurveda” a chance. After all, we are all ready to do the last leg of our life’s journey with a one-way ticket! So, why should we hurry to take that flight through the route of surgery, I wonder?

Our slow, fast or irregular heartbeats are collectively known as arrhythmias. A heart beating too fast is termed tachycardia, while a heart beating too slow is called bradycardia. This is what an ECG tells the doctors. These conditions occur when the heart’s electrical signals become disrupted by external stimuli, such as stress, anxiety or anger, inappropriate foods and drinks, and by old age on top of all triggers. But not necessarily due to a heart disease. No, no, no.

Medicare is getting increasingly commercialized in India, mirroring some of the countries in the west. The doctors and hospitals, in connivance with insurance companies and pharmacies, using the health insurance as a tool, use “fear” as a tool, particularly with the most vulnerable seniors, to make money. Surgeries are recommended because they translate into huge amounts of money. Medical treatment is now a scam causing havoc and going unnoticed by our lawmakers.

The only Maharishi I respect is Google. Even this Maharishi is now facing a threat from AI.

Oh, I forgot what prompted me to write this post…my apologies!

This is my response to RV Rao garu’s post. I hope all will go well with the treatment of his high heartbeat!

Because…

He has a good heart!

Thanks Sr Surendra for a post - knowledgeable.
I totally agree with views and facts in his forward .
Our sickness stages.
Upto 60- cough- cold -fever
There after body reveals the congenital defects one by one. We get a breather when we don't have the similar ailments/ suffering from others
We cannot die compulsorily since we have out lived the averages.
I have made my wife know about my  views and wishes in the last leg of life's journey.
No to surgery except to open up a carbuncle.
No ventilator at all.
The word " Death ' is so dreaded, wife shuts my mouth and delivers dialogues as done in our earlier generation. Now not much reaction.
I have lived all through in organising things in self supporting way including finances.
My greatest concern is how life is going to be when I am totally totally bed ridden.
How many can anyone welcome the death like my friend Raju , staying opposite House. Of course he had kidney issues. He woke up his brother to take out the car to go to hospital as he was feeling uncomfortable. Brother readied car. Raju was not ready - died little earlier.
I will be sharing some facts from time to time and such of those who are not comfortable with the word Death may avoid, ignore or delete.
I thank all our colleague members for their concern about my present health and the trauma I am going through
Regards
R V RAO
Once again Suren - you have a special talent to express your points very judiciously with transparency. Regards
