Emergency Response Support System (ERSS), a Govt of India initiative, is a *Pan-India single number (112)* based emergency response system for citizens in emergencies.

👉 Dial 112 from your phone;

or

👉 Press power button on your smart phone 3 times in quick succession to activate Panic call;

or

👉 Long press ‘5’ or ‘9’ key on your feature phone to activate Panic call;

👉👉👉 *Use  mobile app - '112 India'* for any  help from Police, Fire, Health, Ambulance, Child abuse, Seniors in distress or any other SOS emergencies.

Tap a button on the app to receive call back from nearby Police Conrol Room, to trace your location, send  SMS  messages to your emergency contacts and alert nearby volunteers to reach you urgently.

I remember this was introduced two years back,

112 redirects to 100 (police), 101(Fire), 108(ambulance) and 181(women and child care).

In many smart phones this number 112 is built in feature as it is the number used universally.

To use this facility in phones our government also unified all the above services in all states.
