This song should be familiar to all ACA students. I wonder if you still remember when and how you first heard it in class. Or may be you have listened this already somewhere outside Room 216. Check the music below. Composed by a priest.

It's Pescador de Hombres (Fisher of Men) - known in its English title "Lord, You Have to the Seashore." Nice song for Offertory or Communion.

(English translation)

Lord, You have come to the seashore
Neither searching for..........the rich nor the wise,........
desiring only...........that I should follow

Refrain:

O Lord, with your eyes set upon me,
gently smiling, you have spoken my
name;
all I longed for I have found by the
water. At your side,......................
I will seek other shores.

Lord, see my goods, my possessions;
in my boat you find............no power, no wealth.............
Will you accept then............my nets and labor? Refrain

Lord,.......take my hands and direct them
Help me spend myself in seeking the lost,.......
returning love for.................the love you gave me. Refrain

Lord,..........as I drift on the waters...............
be the resting place..........of my restful heart,...........
my life's companion,...........my friend and refuge............. Refrain

Hi, Prof. Paul!

Of course,  "Pescador de Hombres" has always been one of our ACA theme songs,  The instrumental version (in piano) has
always been the background or musical bed of your slide presentations during our discussions in class. Tha's why it is embedded
in my mind.

I read a small footnote about the song. It said:  The composer of this beautiful song was Cesáreo Gabaráin Azurmendi in 1979. He was a Spanish Basque priest and composer of liturgical songs . He wrote about 250 liturgical Hymns to be mainly sung during the Mass. Born: April 30, 1936. He passed away: April 20, 1991.

The lyrics of the song are quite touching, needless to say.

Best Regards,
Tina
