The New Century Follies Vaudeville Revue takes the stage at The Folly once again on Friday, July 6th, this time to benefit the historic Folly Theater itself. Local and regional theatrical professionals, dancers, and musicians bring the art of vaudeville into the 21st century by performing original material with a classic flare and, in the case of the July show, a patriotic bent. Tickets may be purchased at BrownPaperTickets.com at $20 for general admission, or $250 for a VIP theater box with seating for four patrons, and other special perks such as pre-show theater access and party favors. Showtime is 9pm, with doors opening at 7:30pm. There is a full cash bar.

The July lineup features local luminaries such as actor Ron Megee, femme impersonator Daisy Buckët, actress and singer Katie Gilchrist, pantomime artist and actor Damian Blake, burlesque stars Annie Cherry and Sweet Louise, well known clown and theatrical artist Heidi Van, as well as international champion tango artists Louis Bar and Lauren LaPointe, and more. The performances will be accompanied by live music, performed by The People’s Liberation Big Band, headed up by maestro Brad Cox. Two additional performers will join the cast from St. Louis: physical comic, performance artist, and little person, Xander Lovecraft, and the reigning Kansas City Burlesque Festival ‘Queen of Kansas City Burlesque’ title holder, Foxy LaFeelion.

After The New Century Follies successful debut in April of this year, the show is to become a quarterly fixture at The Folly, with the goal of bringing a broader demographic to the century old theater. Monies raised will go towards the purchase and installation of an exterior marquee sign on the building at 12th and Central.

The New Century Follies is a theatrical collective dedicated to preserving, promoting, and performing the Variety Arts. The NCF produces the quarterly revue at The Folly, and also has recently opened a school in the former chapel of another historic structure, the Baptist Church turned 35,000 square foot artist’s haven now known as The Arts Asylum, at 9th and Harrison. The New Century Follies National Conservatory of Vaudeville is the only educational facility in the metro area dedicated to all things Vaudeville. Upcoming workshops will cover topics such as physical comedy and clowning, burlesque, how to succeed in an audition, stage makeup, juggling, creating gorgeous yet functional costumes, and much, much more...

The New Century Follies Company is Annie Cherry, Katie Gilchrist, Caroline Oates, and Damian Blake, all renowned performers in their own right. Find out more at www.thenewcenturyfollies.com, and www.facebook.com/newcenturyfollies
