Some of Kansas City's most talented acts will come together with
entertainers from Los Angeles, CA at the second annual Val-O-Ween
event on Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Madrid Theatre in Kansas
City, MO. YouTube sensations Jessica & Hunter host the event,
appropriately themed “The Amazeball” given the hosts use of the term,
and pair with Los Angeles DJ Ryan Kenney to provide guests with a
memorable night of giving. Other notable acts include local
entertainer Daisy Buckët and the Kansas City Society of Burlesque.
Guests are encouraged to dress up in their most creative masquerade
themed costumes.
Hosted by the Millennial League – an affiliate of the AIDS Service
Foundation of Greater Kansas City – Val-O-Ween is a fundraiser that
assists in funding organizations that provide services to those
dealing with HIV/AIDS and promoting public education about HIV
infections. The hosts of the event are YouTube sensations Jessica &
Hunter. The 2010 OMFG Internet Award and NewNowNext Award nominees
will entertain the crowd with their ever-entertaining and
unpredictable humor. Providing music throughout the evening is Los
Angeles based DJ Ryan Kenney. Hailed by TiltMag.com as someone “…we'll
be hearing more from…in LA in the all too soon future” this up-and-
coming entertainer will provide music for dancing and several,
surprise performances throughout the evening. Last years' inaugural
Val-O-Ween event attracted almost 500 patrons and guests. Projections
this year are over 650.
General Admission tickets to Val-O-Ween are $20 in advance at
valoween2011.eventbrite.com or $25 at the door the night of the event.
A private, VIP reception will be held from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. and
includes access to an open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres (provided by
Scrape the Plate catering) and entertainment from local drag
entertainer, Daisy Buckët, and the Kansas City Society of Burlesque.
VIP tickets are $75. Beer (sponsor TBD) and signature cocktails
(provided by Shakers Vodka) are included with all admissions.
100% of the proceeds from Val-O-Ween are donated to the AIDS Service
Foundation of Greater Kansas City for disbursement to local AIDS
Service Organizations.
