Q1 Determine the funicular shape for a structure that carries a
uniform load of ‘w’ across its entire span and a concentrated load of
‘P’ at midspan.
Sketch the probable shape of the structure first and then determine
appropriate algeberic
expressions that precisely define the shape?
Q2 Compare the relative load-carrying capacity of a square column and
a round column of equal lengths, similar end conditions, and identical
cross-sectional areas. Which can carry the greater load? What is the
ratio of the critical
buckling loads found? Explain your answers in qualitative terms?
Q3 Using a computer-based structural analysis program, determine
reactions, shears and bending moments for a three span continous beam
of equal 50
foot lengths for each segment and carrying a uniformly distributed
load of 1000 lb/ft
over the structure?
Q4 How prestressed tent structures are tied down to the ground is a
critical design and construction issue. Sketch several different
ground-anchorage
systems capable of carrying tension loads?
pls reply the mail with answers thank you.
Since I am carrying the responsibility of correspondence here at SAEA,
your message has been forwarded to me for response on behalf of our
Society:
#1) The entire domain of SAEA is to provide just BASIC concept of
Seismic Structures & Structural Dynamic (as clearly mentioned in our
Welcome Address). No doubt, we do emphasize on Earthquake
Engineering... for which the Society was founded::: As u know, we
can't provide Calculations / Sketches on the web of this Forum,
everything has to be confined within the parameters of conceptional
point of view only, expressed by worldwide engineers:::
#2) Since your questions are based on CALCULATIONS & SKETCHES,
relating to the subjects of Strength of Materials & Basic STATIC
Structures, u should consult some RELEVANT books covering these topics
within this very domain; and u must try to solve the problems by
YOURSELF (rather than getting them solved from OTHERS, because that's
NOT fair), upon achieving requisite help from relevant material or
relevant teacher, nearby your own county (who's able to make necessary
calculations & plot sketches in your presence). And u must,
thereafter, solve & sketch them all by yourself... after all u have to
solve them by yourself alone during your exam:::
