As we are all completing submissions for AAA in November, SAS wanted to reach out to remind you that the General Call for Participation for AAA’s 2025 Annual Meeting in New Orleans from November 19-23 closes on Wed. April 16th at 11:59pm EDT.
AAA is not accepting individual volunteered papers this year, but they are accepting individual volunteered posters. Some people have expressed interest in assistance creating their posters. SAS plans to post information to help with this on our website. AAA has some helpful advice and guidelines https://americananthro.org/accessibility/poster-gallery-session-guidelines/ as well. In addition, SAS plans to host a virtual poster workshop this summer (details upcoming).
The program committee (Max Stein, Werner B. Hertzog, Michael Thomas, Vera da Silva Sinha, and Toni Copeland) is excited to see a strong pool of SAS relevant posters and panels this year, and we’re happy to work with you to try and match people with overlapping interests. Contributions from students, pre-tenure scholars, applied or practicing anthropologists, and individuals from groups underrepresented in the academy are particularly desirable.
Please NOTE submission types:
Individual Group
Flash Presentation Oral Presentation SESSIONS
Poster Presentation Roundtable
Conversation or Debate
Interview
SAS is happy to
assist in connecting members to create sessions. You can reach out to SAS
members through the listserv by sending an email to: society-for-anthro...@googlegroups.com.
We encourage anyone (especially students) interested in creating or connecting
with others for an oral session to reach out to the program committee via email.
SAS is committed to a broad, integrative, holistic vision of anthropological science. We are happy to host panels, posters or papers from any subfield or topic that fits within the mission of the Society (http://www.societyforanthropologicalsciences.org/p/about.html). The SAS Program Committee is available via email.
