A National Institutes of Health funded research training grant with a focus on schizophrenia
This collaboration between premier university sites in Egypt, India, and the United States provides a
unique opportunity for academic and career growth that involves two types of training.
MEDIUM TERM TRAINING
(SIX MONTHS)
What does the training offer?
A combination of didactic and local personalized
training by international faculty designed to provide:
• a strong foundation in research
methodology and ethics
• experience in protocol, consent, and
research design
Successful completion will lead to official
program certification.
Who can apply?
Psychiatric residents, physicians, master’s level
psychologists/social workers, and other mental
health professionals with a strong interest in
research.*
Restricted to citizens of India or Egypt.
*Medical student applications are restricted to India. Only
those with strong academic records and a strong commitment
to improving psychiatric treatment interventions should apply.
LONG TERM TRAINING
(TWO TO FOUR YEARS)
What does the training offer?
A combination of national and international didactic
training designed to provide a strong foundation in
research methodology and ethics; protocol,
consent, and research design; hands-on research
and faculty mentoring.
Long term trainees may receive additional training
at the University of Pittsburgh, USA and other
collaborating sites.
Who can apply?
Long term trainees must be enrolled in a relevant
Master’s or PhD program at at an accredited
university institution in India or Egypt.
