Hello Lovely Volunteers,
We have officially started our in-class gardening program at Jackson Elementary! They will be every Friday at 10 am at Jackson Elementary, starting this Friday March 30th. We will work with both Kindergarten and 5th grade classes--teaching about soil composition, plant biology, insects, compost, and gardening processes. To get involved as a garden instructor, please reply to this email!
Second, we are having a weeding and spring cleaning day at Mountain View Elementary on Saturday April 7th at 10 am. We will be oiling our tools, weeding garden beds, checking in on our garlic, and doing some "bucket brigade" watering. Please let me know if you would like to carpool!
Jackson Elementary is located at 750 West 100 North, SLC
Mountain View Elementary is located at California Avenue and Navajo St. (1300 south 1240 west), SLC
