Hey everyone,

Just want to get the ball rolling on this project, or gauge where it is today.  Aaron Saunders on my team brought to my attention this community effort at a socialize plugin for Titanium:


Maybe we can use that as a starting point?  Has anyone begun to put pen to paper on a formal solution yet?  If we could start with a current status of everyone on this list, and figure out what, if anything has been started already, we start putting together a plan to bang out an official Socialize plugin for Titanium.

Kevin, thanks for taking point on this.  We're ready to provide support to the project.  I'm on this distro list (I'm the CTO) as well as two of my lead developers.  So if you guys run into any problems, we'll be here to help.

Daniel is also on this distro list, and he'll be working with Appcelerator to do some marketing around it w/ the Appcelerator team once there's a stable module out.

Ideally we'd like to manage all support through http://support.GetSatisfaction.com.  There are already a few threads here that you can add to, or feel free to create new posts when you run into issues:

I've also gone ahead and invite our entire dev team so help you from all aspects of iOS, android and the REST API if you guys have any questions.

This is really exciting, and glad to be a part of it.

I will have a lot more to say around Wednesday afternoon - I have two scoping meetings on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning to find out exactly what our needs will be. In theory, I don't think I'd want much more than what socialize-titanium-sdk does packaged as a module in the Market for easier incorporation in projects using our Titanium assembly line.

But, after talking with the clients who we are building our Ti+Socialize apps for, I might have some extra bells and whistles to add. I'm bringing a prototype based on socialize-titanium-sdk to the meetings next week so that I have something concrete to discuss.

Okay – to put a scope around this, from the Appcelerator side we'd really like to have the Socialize plugin ready for use by the third week of January, so we can do a screencast and announce a contest around it that week.

My proposed schedule:

1/16: 
Module done and ready for production

1/18: 
Tutorial screencast published (part of our weekly Forging Titanium series, which is our version of Railscasts)
Announce $1k contest for plugin usage

1/23:
Contest entries due, winner announced
