Massive fire guts shanties in Lucknow’s Vikas Nagar

massive fire broke out at a jhuggi cluster in Vikas Nagar area in Lucknow on Wednesday (April 15, 2026) evening.

According to an official from the State Fire Service, a call regarding the fire was received at 5:30 p.m., and six fire tenders were pressed into service.

There has been no report of casualty and the dousing operation is underway, the official added.

Locals said that several small LPG cylinders exploded in the heat; however, there was no confirmation about this officially.
