On August 26, 2025, a shocking and organized attack was carried out at the People’s Tribunal on Assam in New Delhi—an event meant to uphold the values of justice and human rights. Among those targeted was Dr. Syeda Hameed, a respected activist and thinker, whose courage and leadership have long inspired many of us.
This assault was not just on individuals, but on the very foundations of our democracy—on free speech, dissent, and the right to seek justice.
I have signed a petition condemning this attack and calling for accountability, protection for activists, and a judicial inquiry. I urge you to read and sign the petition as well, and stand in solidarity with Dr. Hameed.
