Dear Respected LoPs,

As a concerned citizen I wish to draw your attention to the 2024-25 audit report of the CAG in which it has pointed out unaccounted spending of over Rs 54000 crore during the audit year. It is deeply worrying that the PAC Chair Shri KC Vengugopal whose mandate is to scrutinise and act upon the audit report has not yet done anything worthwhile so far in line with his duty on behalf of the nation. It is worth noting that the issue is mainly with the  direct beneficiary transfers, with ample scope for gross misuse.

And in the past audit year (2023-24) the loss to the national exchequer was even greater, yet even this critical issue passed  without the country noticing it. The PAC Chair Shri KV Venugopal with adequate secretariat support had failed the country in promptly acting on this respecting the important mandate vested on him with the help of the Congress party.

If you recall the presumptive (fictional) loss reported by CAG Shri Vinod Rai was only about Rs 100000 crores while the two years loss to the country at Rs 115,000 crores far exceeds that amount. Yet RSS BJP created a whole mass movement, mobilising unsuspecting citizens against the govt of that time and put themselves in rule perpetually. But you both and your PAC chair Shri KC Venugopal have sadly failed the nation.

Can you imagine the pressures and difficulties under which the officials of the CAG work, at every level. Yet they told some truth in their reports, the 2023-24 report put it mildly and the new report under a new CAG Shri Sanjay Murthy put the loss quite firmly. Yet the Opposition of our country has failed the CAG officers and the citizens of the country.

I understand from the media that the PAC chair has ample time to engage in infighting in your party to become the CM of Kerala, but no time even to properly inform the people about this massive scam. Your previous choice of PAC chair Shri KV Thomas, who even deserted the party for greener pastures, wasnt any different.
